I always thought Army was a waste of time, don't get me wrong I still think it is. However i suddenly had a change of mind, just treat it as a vacation before the barrage of work and studies come my way. I mean I basically just enjoy everyday out of camp, I do what i want. But i haven't been making use of this available time to do anything constructive... I wanna wake up and feel like i can take charge if my life just like how the airforce guy (forgot yr name sorry) i met at bukit timah field told me abt. hopefully that day comes soon...

"Everything in Transit" by Jack's Mannequin is the holy grail of alternative rock in my opinion. The clarity and sincerity in Andrew McMahon's voice and the symphony of the music is certainly mind blowing... http://www.myspace.com/jacksmannequin

"I wake up to find it's another
Four aspirin morning, and I dive in
I put on the same clothes I wore yesterday.
When did society decide that we had to change
And wash a tee shirt after every individual use:
If it's not dirty, I'm gonna wear it.
I take the stairs to the car
And there's fog on the windows.
(And I'm Fighting the words...)
I need caffeine in my blood stream,
I take caffeine in the blood stream.
I grip the wheel and all at once I realize:
(And you're getting away...)
My life has become a boring pop song
And everyone's singing along" - from I'm Ready

Played soccer at punggol on the 23rd with my fav combination of players including ethan... Boon had a bag of tricks but looked frustrated, Adib as usual shone throughout the match and is arguably the man of the match. Had several scares in the match but we triumph 3-2. I think I'm falling back in the quality of soccer though. Sigh
Merry Christmas with my JC frens at my house. The long overdued gathering was finally put together. Although we didnt have turkey, we got chicken... served with chips, vodka and laughter. Merry Christmas guys.

Finally,

To ALL!

Jacks Mannequin - The Mixed Tape (Live On Kimmel)

Flabbergasted... "symphony of sounds"
The best sale this festive season is at our oh-so-beloved Paragon. With sales in most stores and boutiques which include AX, Calvin Klein, United Colors of Benetton, Guess and many more, it is really a bargain for any fashion-conscious person, well i couldn't resist the temptation... but not after i had lunch with my family at ding tai feng, supposedly one of the top 10 restaurants in the world. Whoa... but it wasn't as good as i make it out to be... but the xiao long baos deserve special mention... and the array of fried rice which i didn't get a chance to stomach... hahah... so get frisky this festive season and eat, shop and party till we drop!
“People are just people
They shouldn’t make you nervous
The world is everlasting
It’s coming and it’s going
if you don’t toss your plastic
the streets won’t be so plastic
and if you kiss somebody
then both of you’ll get practice”

It has been quite a happening past 2 weeks. Let me recollect...

Paid DXO a visit wif hornyteam members (kayun, max, zhiping, kenneth and wayne) surprisingly i got to meet up with ethan loo the capitan... hahah he told me he wanted to organise a match after he got all sentimental after browsing ngak's friendster... wtf?? hahah but i miss them too the soccer guys. saw ashley, lucky no wig... hahah... but anyway kenneth told me he bought gucci shoes for $600 overseas. gay. had great fun drinking and dancing... zhiping brought a fren along and her dance moves were... hot... y dun he jus go jio her??? makes me wonder whether he gay... partied till 3am before we left.

Had 2 soccer matches yesterday and today... and won 6-1 each...
Yesterday was with scorchers and it was nervy but we held on... had major cramps towards the end... need 5 b ex la... haha wei min played too altho he was too tired for the second half... went out wif him for awhile after that... he is so unfathomable i would say but in a good way.

Today was with hornyteam and it was actually a stroll in the park literally. had lunch with dad after that at this posh but cosy shanghai restaurant. its called yanqing shanghai blah blah blah... if you dun alr noe, yan qing was a channel 8 host i think... the food had extravagant prices tagged with them... guess wat 4 xiao long bao costs my dad $8 compared to crystal jade 4 for $3.60... sent dad to the airport after and heard that he may have to stay in US for quite a bit due to the lack of air tickets... i wish him a safe trip and a good stay there...

Watched "it all began with a kiss" just now... and Uni life in Taiwan is well oh so happening and fun... pls let NS end now...

I could watch this a million times and still be awed by it...
Nostalgic will be the word to describe my feelings yesterday. I met up with my sec sch frens for a match at marina south and it was fantastic to play alongside them. To cap off the magnificent day, we won 4-1, at least. hahah. Albert the maniac scored 2 goals altho he could have scored many more. L played well in def. Actually it didn't looked like a great day as the sky was ominous and i forgot to bring my boots, but all turned out well to my relief... We went to old airport road and had dinner after that. And i got lost trying to find my way back...

It would be a joy to be still doing this when we are all working in future... Dun you think so??
To the first of many to come...

Was browsing thru vids on youtube when i stumbled upon my childhood hero's vid of the goals he scored for milan which i supported since young. His vigour, strength and determination are some of the qualities that make me look up to him... PLUS he's a model for Armani... whoa! hahah whatever... I'm actually pretty upset he chose Chelski over staying at Milan but oh well everyone needs a new challenge. By now you shld have guessed who he is...
I present to you

Just bought smallville season 5. Costs me $67. a rather hefty price many will say. but after watching the first 3 epidsodes, it completely justified its price. The plot is fantastic, and then kristin kreuk is jus amazing on screen (check out ep5-2 mortal). She's so the "girl next door". Tom and her make the perfect couple. There are more issues than jus the entertainment values, it teaches you issues on life, the toughness of decision making. And i jus can't get enough of the music in the show... "ache" by James Carrington," Precious" by Depeche mode and "A message" by Coldplay jus to name a few.

Spent alot this weekend. close to $300 i would say. bought new shoes, smallville, a belt and lots of great food. like the Loy Kee chicken rice that i ate at Balestier Rd today.

Have a "crazy taxi drivers" phenomenon going btw Terrence and me.

"最美的爱情回忆里待续 "

The most beautiful phrase in this new jay chou song in my opinion. The most wonderful love lives in your memories. Dun you agree? Hahah

And do check out Hebe, because according to Kenneth she has levelled up and i cannot disagree... Hahah...

(repost due to an omission by blogger)

Had a bad week in camp. Caught the flu bug on sunday night and I still have it now... my headaches have also kicked in. And falling down on my hip on tuesday during sports and games compounded this week's misery. Feel like screaming out all the anger within my self sometimes about army, but somehow i keep it bottled inside. Sometimes I jus wanna be a Cheong or a Robert, but i can't. Hahah but since when anyone said life was fair. Jeremy the prick ord loh... kinda miss him... Nxt in line would be me :)

"ache" by James Carrington

I am totally immersed

Home Sweet Home

A return from an overseas trip never felt this good in my life. My sense of elation was unbelievable upon reaching Singapore. As i alighted from the plane, it dawned on me that it was the last time I would chiong sua as a NSF. Strangely, i had mixed feelings abt it. I guess i would certainly miss the times where platoon 1 suffer and fool arnd together. Ex. Crescendo is tremendous, we had abt 4 exercises in total. Namely, Ex Deerhunter, Falcon, Eagle and Sapperstar (in ascending order of difficulty). Deerhunter was jalan jalan with my section. Falcon was tough owing to our incapabilty of launching and retrieving of the class30. Eagle was not as hard as others made out to be. And Sapperstar was not all that tough as initially expected. Lek restaurant and aunty JENNY with her "Hello, no. 23" rox my sox. Calamari and Tomyam were fabilicious. And best of all, i could actually play winning eleven 10 at Saiyok. Bought a bottle of Chivas that i intend to open on my b'dae/ORD. HAhah.

Had soccer in the morning with yukai gang and hornyteam. Caught up with Kenneth after abt 5mths? Time flies... Really.

Went out with lao chen in the evening for shopping and kino. Hahah walked like 100000km or smth, i have a huge blister on my toe. sigh. Although i didn't get any stuff, had fun talking with chinaman. (Hazelnut Latte from coffee bean deserves special mention)
I wish him a smooth sailing trip back to China...

I have many many pictures from Thailand and I'll post them on my blog soon. That is if i didn't squash my Kodak disposable camera. hahah. Ciao.

Things I'll miss in Singapore...

I'll be going Crescendo in a couple of hours, so i thought i would jus have a last post here. Had lunch in the afternoon courtesy of Delifrance. CAN you believe the curry chicken Feuilleté is only going at $1... unbelievable! had one of that plus a chicken sandwich delight. Played soccer at 3pm with zlatan, terrence, lao chen and Lam plus Lionel they all. It was a session to forget, i played the worst in like 10 yrs. I even yelled at lao chen out of impatience and frustration. Whew, i want to change that ugly side of my soccer, yet everytime i let my emotions take the better of me. I ought to seek Dr. Buddy Rydell (Jack Nicholson) for some anger management sessions. hahah.

Finally, I would miss the food in singapore, the pepper lunch, gelare waffles, crystal jade soup and much more. Obviously next on the list would be soccer then my family. Lastly, it would be the songs that i adore so much. Guess i should stop whining, hahah. Ciao.

Be back on 28 oct...

Smallville Season 6

You gotta catch the new Smallville season. It was awesome in my opinion, the effects have been jacked up a whole lot and the characters matured by milestones. Superb TV drama that will leave you wanting more.

Had soccer this morning with Weixin, Nathan, Xiang Hui and Lionel. Was rather eventful and I would really miss playing with them for 2 weeks. Can't believe Weixin mentioned the option of signing on for 6 mths. Hahah never in a million years. Maybe officers do have better treatment. But i guess he's really the capable soldier. Hahah

20 more mins till I'm on my way back to camp, gonna finish packing up for Crescendo.

Preparation for Crescendo

This week has been planned for us to complete the remaining training for Ex. Crescendo. It was pretty much relax and not as streneous as previous weeks of hardcore shiet. NavEx was like a stroll in the park thanks pretty much to my beloved and going-to-ord sect. com JiaLuoMi. He made the navigation look easy and our section jus had to tag along, with Teck Fatt. Lol. Heard Prasad's section did far worse and got caught in the rain also. Sigh I wonder how he would do as a PS for the next batch of Alpha Men.

We constructed an improvised covert on Thursday. A retarded one though. hahah had the whole coy to do it. Much of it was done by optic blasts. But the thought of having one platoon strength to do it in Crescendo sickens me. Hahah. I had a chat with CO and RSM plus the irritating "2-bar" gay that took us for the urine test and a couple of the "best soldiers of the month". It was pretty much lighthearted and CO is quite retarded lah, he kept making lame remarks. Made me nervous for nothing. Bleagh.

Booked Out day today was as usual into the late evening. The morning battlion run was RETARDED. LAO JAIK made us run another round and i sang like a raving madman. screaming the gay songs out. felt great though. PS2 did static shiet like there was no tml. zonked out in bunk the whole day afterwards until i booked out at 1730.

Caught the goals from the early 5 yrs of EPL. so many long shots and lobs. you sometimes wonder how they do it.

Looking forward to soccer on sunday with my brother, CHEONG. No words to describe this guy. Maybe eccentric and astounding would suffice. Hahah on second thoughts maybe not. Finally unravelled the mystery of Mr Novel. BWAHAHHA. gay shiet. Hope no more area cleaning bullshit after CRESCENDO.

Lifehouse LIVE~!

This is Lifehouse's live performance of "take me away". Totally orgasmic. Enjoy

My Travelogue

October 1 2006. Started a blog so that i could write down my thoughts and safekeep them. To start of, would like to say that I jus got my class 3 license. Woohoo, after maybe more than 7 mths in the doldrums at SSDC, the slip of paper was a just reward for all the hard work i had devoted (27 Oct 06). Since then, I have driven twice with positive outcomes. Hopefully mum will give me the keys soon. Hahah.

You might wonder why i had Ernest Rutherford all over my title. He is a breakthrough physicist of his time. He received the nobel prize for investigations into the disintegration of elements and the chemistry of radioactive substances. He did this by being tenacious and open minded. He was devoted to his work and would go the extra mile to accomplish whatever he set out to do. And i would really like to be like him, to grow in girth and mentality everyday. Hence the title of my blog.

With appreciation from Bill Bryson for providing me his brief biography and quote. His book "A Short History of Nearly Everything" is a fabulous one which provides insight and knowledge into many fields of science. Recommended to all science geeks out there.

ORD soon fellow friends. 4mths and 1 week.
